Flick Filosopher weekly digest Nov 02–08
Links to everything I posted at Flick Filosopher between Monday, November 2nd, and Sunday, November 8th, in the plague year 2020.
always look on the bright side of life...
Finally, a week with some good news! Donald Trump will soon be gone from the White House, and the vaccine breakthrough announced today means that there may be a light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel. It’s all almost too much to hope for.
But we still have, at a minimum, months of uncertainty and diminished life ahead of us. I am trying to make the most of the month-long lockdown that England is currently in by taking a long daily walk, rain or shine (so far, it’s been sunny), and posting photos from lockdown London each day. You can follow along with those on Twitter via #LockdownDailyWalk.
More good geek news that I would never have anticipated: We suddenly have brand-new Star Wars and Star Trek episodes debuting weekly. These simultaneous nerd treats are making lockdown a little more tolerable. I hope you’ve found something that’s helping you get through these dark days, as well.

The Binge: The Mandalorian S1 (#DisneyPlus) [pictured]
Here is the future of Star Wars, one not mired in the narrow threads of the movies’ mythology, but a story that acknowledges that there is a whole big complicated wonderful galaxy to explore.
