all I want for Christmas: curated cinema holiday countdown #24
open the virtual door to find the perfect holiday film to fulfill a heartfelt desire
An Advent calendar of holiday movies to fulfill heartfelt desires.
All I want for Christmas is… a nice quiet relaxing Christmas Eve.
And the film for that is definitely NOT 1988’s Die Hard:
Unless you’re watching it snuggled up cosy at home, like I will be this evening. Merry Christmas!

US: stream on Prime and and Hulu; rent/buy on Prime and Apple TV
UK: stream on Disney+; rent/buy on Prime and Apple TV
See Die Hard at Letterboxd for more viewing options, including in all other global regions.

I had never seen this, so I asked for it to watch with my dad when while visiting for Thanksgiving this year. Anything to keep the Jim Carey Grinch or (shudder) Elf off the screen. It was a blast! My stepmother kept exclaiming, “This is a *Christmas* movie? Where’s Santa, right?”
Wishing you a peaceful and merry day!
