daily stream: an outrageously violent, outrageously funny apocalypse
2009’s *Zombieland* has returned to Netflix in the UK; on Hulu in the US
I haven’t seen the final episode of The Last of Us yet — don’t tell me how it ends! But I’ve heard it’s especially brutal, even grading on the particularly nasty apocalyptic curve the show has established. So if you’re in need of a lighter undead-end-of-the-world, why not revisit the 2009 horror comedy Zombieland. It’s like an American Shaun of the Dead, so instead of cricket bats as weapons and jokes about tea, it’s shotguns as anti-zombie devices and a quest to find the last Twinkie. The cast is pure joy — Jesse Eisenberg as a sweet dweeb, Woody Harrelson as a smirking ass-kicker, and Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as gals who definitely don’t need rescuing — and the comedy is amusingly despicable. (Read my 2009 review.)

this one’s a gem I haven’t seen since shortly after its release; may need to revisit it, now that you’ve brought it back to my attention. . .
