daily stream: he didn't kill his wife but the law doesn't care
1993’s *The Fugitive* is on HBO Max in the US and Sky Cinema in the UK
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If you can’t get to a parade, you can visit one onscreen, like in 1993’s The Fugitive. This, one of the most thrilling films of the last few decades, features one of the greatest chase scenes of recent vintage, in which Harrison Ford’s unjustly persecuted man hides from Tommy Lee Jones’s US marshal and minions amidst Chicago’s wearin’-o’-the-green parade. Perhaps topping all the many thrills of this perfect popcorn movie is the parade sequence, which director Andrew Davis shot guerrilla-style amidst Chicago’s actual Paddy’s Day march. See how many marchers you can spot by their facial expressions clocking superstar Harrison Ford in their midst, or — in the movie’s context — that doctor who the ten-o’clock news said murdered his wife. I love this movie so hard, not least for this scene.
