Flick Filosopher weekly digest now on Substack!
plus: everything that happened at Flick Filosopher between Monday, December 28th, 2020, and Sunday, January 3rd, 2021
Hello, dear reader! And happy new year, such as it is.
It was a slow week at Flick Filosopher in the Twixmas* period — see the few paltry links below — but I did make some fairly big decisions and do some fairly big behind-the-scenes shuffling, the first result of which you see before you: The Weekly Digest email has moved from Mailchimp to Substack.
If you’re reading this as someone who signed up at Mailchimp, you don’t need to do a thing. I’ve moved your subscription over, and you’re good to go. If ever you want to unsubscribe, you’ll find a link at the bottom of each email.
If you feel so moved, you can post a comment on the version of this email that you’ll find at the Flick Filosopher Substack site. That comment will be seen publicly. You can respond privately to me, if you like, simply by replying to this email.
In the coming weeks, I will be evaluating how best to move reader options to financially support my work from Patreon over to Substack. (If you aren’t already one of my Patreon patrons, you can still become one now — I’ll move everyone over when the transition happens and make it as easy as possible to shift your payment.)
So, eventually, there will be both paid and free options for the Flick Filosopher Substack. This Weekly Digest email will always be free, and there will be absolutely no obligation to sign up for the paid side of things… though you might miss out on some cool stuff if you don’t. :-)
I’ve been a bit down lately about my work and how to do it all better and smarter, and in ways that can reach new readers. Substack has given me a renewed sense of optimism, and I’m looking forward to making the most of it.
Thanks, as always, for sticking with me on this crazy journey.
—MaryAnn
PS: I’ve set up a separate Substack for my fiction. If you indicated at Mailchimp that you also wanted to get fiction updates, I’ve moved your subscription over there. That one will also eventually have both paid and free options, though the newsy version that lets you know what I’m up to will always be free.
*Twixmas is the week between Christmas and New Year’s, and since I learned this delightful word this week, I am using it as often as possible.
