weekly digest: in which I continue to struggle
the little bit that happened at Flick Filosopher from Monday, March 6, to Sunday, March 12
Didn’t write a single review last week. Sorry about that. As my hip continues to deteriorate, so does my mental well being. I’m clinging — very tenuously — to the notion that this is only temporary and things will get better (though I don’t know how soon)… but it’s so hard right now.
I’m aiming for a few new reviews this week…

my picks for tonight’s 95th Academy Awards (the Oscars for 2022’s films) (winners indicated)

loaded question: what casual video games can you recommend at the moment?
I’ve just discovered mass-transit simulator Mini Metro, and I’m wasting so much wonderful time with it. It reminds me of SimCity, which I was hooked on many many years ago… [reply at Flick Filosopher | reply at Substack | reply at Patreon]
what I’m bingeing
The Mandalorian [Disney+ globally]: love how this series is ensuring we understand that its protagonist is a loopy, out-of-touch fanatic… but at least a harmless one, unlike:
The Last of Us [HBO Max US, Sky/Now UK]: properly terrifying, and I don’t mean the not-zombies
Old Enough! [Netflix globally]: didn’t get back to this again last week
Picard [Paramount+ US (via Prime)/Prime UK]: I like how this week’s episode resisted the opportunity to turn the admiral sentimental
