weekly digest: new ways to find more movies to watch!
everything that happened at Flick Filosopher from Monday, January 3rd, to Sunday, January 9th
I only posted one review this week, but I did implement some things at FlickFilosopher.com that I’ve been meaning to get around to for a while now (see links below to posts explaining them). Basically, they’re all things that will help you find more movies you want to watch.
I also recorded a guest appearance on a podcast this past week, and that one, as well as another podcast guest appearance I recorded a while ago, will both debut this week. I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as they’re live.
That said, I see in the FlickFilosopher.com search results that lots of you have been looking for reviews of some of the latest big new movies. I’m working on getting caught up, promise!

Delicate State movie review: life goes on as the world falls apart [pictured]
An ultra-low-budget marvel, a perspective on societal disruption and disorder as everyday precariousness comes for those previously sheltered from it. Barely speculative, maybe terrifyingly prescient. [read the review | US VOD]

what I’m bingeing
Station Eleven [HBO Max US; coming to Starzplay UK Jan 30]: I continue to love this show. Incredibly well crafted all around, from the gorgeous performances — Mackenzie Davis is amazing — to the production design (beautifully capturing postapocalyptic decline and decay), to the writing, which is full of suspense and wisdom and gentle wonder. One of the more perfect series of recent vintage.
