After more than two years of dodging the bastard coronavirus, my luck seems to have run out. My eight-year-old housemate brought the virus home from somewhere — school or Cub Scouts — and tested positive on Thursday. I’ve been testing negative since then, but I feel like absolute shit: slight fever, fatigue, general blahness. Today I’ve started to develop a bit of a runny nose and scratchy throat.
My other housemate, the kid’s mom, tested positive this morning. I’ve been isolating myself in the house as much as possible, and wearing a mask when I’m in our common areas, but it seems impossible that I will have avoided the virus. I probably caught it before the kid’s positive test.
Maybe the symptoms are the result of my vaccine shots fighting the virus, and my viral load is too low to register on a rapid test.
Anyway, I have little energy and almost no focus. I’m not sure how much, if anything, I’m going to be able to offer you in the next days and weeks — hopefully not weeks!
Sorry about that. I’ll be sure to keep you all up to date with how I’m doing. Maybe my luck will return and I’ll feel able to work again soon!

Aha, okay. I left the Twitterverse a while ago, so I missed that.
How are you doing, MaryAnn? I hope you’re right as rain soon.
